Despite Earlier Reports, Litchfield PD Chief Sargent Not Coming Back Just Yet

(Litchfield, NH) — Litchfield Police Chief Benjamin Sargent won’t be coming back anytime soon after all.

On Friday, the Litchfield Board of Selectmen issued a release stating that Chief Sargent will remain on leave for an indeterminate amount of time pending the completion of an ongoing investigation.

The chief reportedly went on leave back in January.

Since then, say officials, an unidentified department captain has been calling the shots.
