A lane was closed on Interstate 93 Southbound this morning after a crash.  According to the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, the crash occurred near the Windham-Salem town line, leading to the left lane closure. The closure led to traffic backups in that stretch, but traffic began easing just before 8 a.m. when the lane was reopened, and the crash was cleared.  

A woman is facing charges after calling in fake threats to the Seabrook Walmart.  Thirty-eight-year-old Meghan Leavitt of Alfred, Maine, is facing several charges.  She allegedly made the calls from an Uber, after which the driver called 911.  According to police, Leavitt made the calls to distract police from arresting her boyfriend who was caught shoplifting at the Dick’s Sporting Goods nearby.     

 New Hampshire Fish and Game officials are warning riders of melting snow along trails.  The caution comes after a man was hospitalized after a snowmobile crash in Milan Saturday and another woman killed in Groton last week.  The weekend rider was tossed from his snowmobile after hitting a ditch along Corridor 19, while a 60-year-old woman died after a crash Thursday.   

Two state children’s hospitals are once again the beneficiaries of the annual Battle of the Badges Championship.  This weekend marked the 15th annual charity hockey game played by local firefighters and police officers in Manchester.  Each player in the game is paired with a CHaD ambassador who is currently under pediatric care at either Dartmouth medical facility. The game this weekend raised 230-thousand dollars.     

 New Hampshire Amtrak riders can still buy booze despite regulatory red tape.  The train that runs from Maine to Boston will continue to sell alcohol along the 35-mile stretch through the Granite State.  Amtrak officials say they’re working on a “creative solution” to get around state liquor laws.  The New Hampshire Liquor Commission reportedly told Amtrak it cannot serve alcohol during the portion of the commute that runs through the state.     

Open road toll lanes on Interstate 95 and Interstate 93 in New Hampshire will be closed for maintenance work one day this week. According to the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, the open road toll lanes on I-95 in Hampton will be closed from 6 a.m. through 3 p.m. Tuesday. The I-93 open road toll lanes will be closed in Hooksett from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday.
