Manchester Resident Charged For Unemployment Fraud

A Manchester resident is under indictment for unemployment compensation fraud. It’s alleged that between June 30th, 2015, and July 6th, 2019, Luis Avendano failed to disclose the full extent of his employment and earnings to the Department of Employment Security in order to collect benefits. The attorney generals office says Avendano received over 27-thousand-dollars in jobless payments, including federal benefits during the COVID pandemic, to which he was not entitled. He’s scheduled for arraignment in mid-October.
