State Lawmakers Approve Funding for Children’s Summer Food Assistance
There’s good news for struggling New Hampshire families who sometimes struggle to adequately feed their children when state schools are out of session.
On Friday state representatives narrowly passed a measure that provides $1.1 million to fund a state-sponsored summer food-assistance fund.
The measure reportedly allocates funding sufficient to set up and administer the program for two years.
Officials say benefits will be based on pre-tax annual household income.
