Manchester Secures Funding to Keep Shelter Open
The City of Manchester has secured funding to keep a domestic violence shelter open.
The $600,000 is coming from the American Rescue Plan Act and, the money will go towards the purchase of the shelter called Emily’s Place.
The shelter first opened back in 1988 and helps dozens of family members each year.
It was in danger of shutting down after the Manchester YWCA and its crisis services operator ended their partnership.
