Stratham Teen Accepts Plea Deal for Stabbing at Hampton Beach

A Stratham teen will spend a year in jail after pleading guilty in a Rockingham courtroom to stabbing another man in the leg late last year.

Court officials say a deal with prosecutors enabled 19-year-old Joseph James Davis to plead guilty to a single count of simple assault with bodily injury linked to the December 3rd, 2023, incident at Hampton Beach.

The deal reportedly prompted prosecutors to drop a felony second-degree assault charge, as well as a single breach-of-bail offense, that would have prompted a more serious sentence.
