NH Hospitals Resolve Lawsuit Over “ER Boarding” of Psychiatric Patients
Hospitals and the New Hampshire Hospital Association have reached an agreement to resolve litigation around “ER boarding.”
Officials say the practice involved holding psychiatric patients in hospital emergency rooms.
A federal judge gave New Hampshire one year to end the practice.
Hospital Association President Steve Ahnene said they look forward to working with Health and Human Services to ensure patients have enough mental health resources to end ER boarding.
