Police, Civil Rights Unit Now Involved in Investigation of Hate Crime

Police and a civil rights unit are involved in the investigation into a possible hate crime in Somersworth.

A gay couple who owns a store and apartment on High Street say a group of juveniles shouted homophobic slurs at them earlier this week.

There was then an altercation that resulted in three people needing treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Wm. Poole Confections business is currently shut down as the owners debate whether to keep it in the community.
