Secretary of State Says He Can’t Ban Trump From Primary Ballot
Secretary of State David Scanlan says that he can’t ban former President Donald Trump from appearing on next year’s GOP primary ballot.
Scanlan announced Wednesday he doesn’t have the legal authority to make that move.
The idea of removing Trump from the contest under the 14th Amendment of the Constitution came up after he was indicted for his alleged role in causing violent protests at the U.S. Capitol.
The presidential primary filing period begins October 11th.
