Human Case JCV Confirmed in Hillsborough County

A human case of Jamestown Canyon Virus has been confirmed in New Hampshire.

The virus spread by mosquitoes was identified in an adult in Hillsborough County.

Symptoms can include fever, muscle aches and headaches and can progress to more serious conditions such as meningitis or encephalitis.

There is no vaccine or anti-virus medication for JVC.
