Gilford Firefighters Save Dog from Well

According to the Laconia Daily Sun, a dog and her owners endured an early October fright Sunday when the family pet crashed through a cover and into an abandoned well.

The story ended on a happy note, though, thanks to a well-trained team of rescuers from Gilford Fire-Rescue Department.

The dog fell down an estimated 15 to 25 feet until she hit the water.

There, she was able to find enough of a foothold on the stones to rest and wait for help.
