Autopsy Results in Rochester Officer-Involved Shooting

An autopsy conducted on 36-year-old Joseph Russell of Rochester determined he died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The deputy chief medical examiner also said the manner of death was homicide.

Russell was shot and killed by state troopers Friday night in connection with motor vehicle thefts in Rochester and Lebanon, Maine.

The Attorney General’s Office said the names of the troopers who used deadly force will be released when the investigation into the shooting is completed.
