Belmont Police Honor Memory of K-9 Officer Vito
Belmont police are mourning the death of a four-legged, law-enforcement colleague.
Department officials say K-9 Vito served the local community for eight years.
Vito came to the Granite State from Slovakia in 2014 and was assigned to then-Officer Evan Boulanger after completing his training.
The K-9 continued to serve with Boulanger after the officer was promoted to lieutenant.
Police say Vito, who had retired, earned several awards while assisting in countless investigations before he succumbed to lymphoma on Friday.
