Bid Approved for New Bridge in Hampton

The Executive Council accepted the lower of two bids Wednesday to replace a bridge in Hampton.

The existing bridge over the Hampton River on Ocean Boulevard was built in 1949 and has been ‘red listed’ for years because it needs to be replaced.

The cost is $107-million-dollars and work could begin this year.
