New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella has joined 46 other attorneys general in an investigation of the social media company TikTok.  The probe is focused on whether the app has used unfair or deceptive practices in violation of consumer protection laws.  Formella says young people are exposed to harmful content including potentially deadly challenges, bullying, sexual images and drug use.  The AG says TikTok knows the harm it’s causing but has done nothing to address the issue.    

  Windows have been damaged by BB gun pellets at six locations in Manchester including the police station since early February.  The repair estimate in each case is over one-thousand dollars.  An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Manchester police.   

 A Newmarket state Representative is reportedly facing discipline after allegedly shouting a profanity at Deputy House Speaker Steven Smith.  It happened in a heated exchange during a House session last week.  Representative Ellen Read apparently objected when Smith tried to gavel a recess while Democrats had a temporary majority on the House floor.   

    A 24-year-old Saugus, Massachusetts, man is charged with negligent driving after hitting a New Hampshire State Police cruiser.  Two troopers were assisting a vehicle that had spun off I-93 in Thornton Saturday morning during the weekend snowstorm.  Benjamin Amico drove through flares set up at the accident scene and then  sideswiped the cruiser and crashed into a guardrail while attempting to move into the travel lane.  No one was hurt.  

  A Bedford man has been sentenced to over 15 years in state prison on multiple drug, firearms and witness tampering charges.  The attorney general’s office said Brian Rutherford pleaded guilty Friday in Hillsborough County Superior Court, Northern Division.  Prosecutors said that between January of 2018, and June of 2019, Rutherford conspired to traffic large amounts of fentanyl in the Manchester and Bedford areas. 

 Folks who haven’t had the chance to check out the Ice Castles event in North Woodstock still have a few days left to do so. The 2023 season has been extended, but only through this coming Saturday. Thousands of people have already visited the castles over the last several weeks and had a close-up look at frozen thrones, ice-carved tunnels and even slides. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by visiting icecastles.com.
