Driver to Plead Guilty to Charges Linked to New Hampshire Trooper’s Death
A Connecticut truck driver will plead guilty for his role in a late 2021 crash that killed a New Hampshire State Police trooper.
Court officials in Portsmouth say the attorneys for Jay Medeiros said their client is now agreeing to a plea deal on charges of negligent homicide and reckless conduct.
The charges stem from an October 2021 crash.
Staff Sergeant Jesse Sherill was working an overnight construction detail on I-95 in Portsmouth when Medeiros, who was behind the wheel of a semi tractor-trailer, slammed into Sherill’s parked cruiser.
Sherill was seated inside the cruiser and was declared dead at the scene.
