An expert believes New Hampshire is due for a significant earthquake.

Based on recent tremors and historical records, Boston College geophysics Professor John Ebel predicts the Granite state will experience a significant event.

He said a big earthquake is likely to be centered in a fault between Concord and the Lakes Region.

There have been hundreds of earthquakes felt or centered in New Hampshire since 1940.
