Federal Judge Says Censorship Law Across NH is Unconstitutional
A federal judge has ruled that a censorship law in place at schools across New Hampshire is unconstitutional.
The measure discourages public school teachers from discussing issues with students such as gender, sexual orientation, and disability.
The court says the law clearly violates the 14th Amendment of the Constitution and says that it failed to give guidance to educators about what they could and couldn’t have in their courses.
The legislation was signed into law in 2021.
