Mistrial Declared in Concord Youth Detention Services Malavet Case
Following multiple days of deliberations, a mistrial has been declared in the case against Victor Malavet.
The jury couldn’t reach a verdict and decide if Malavet was innocent or guilty of sexually abusing a teenager while working as a state youth counselor decades ago.
Malavet was an employee at the Youth Detention Services facility located in Concord.
State Attorney General John Formella says he’s disappointed but it’s unknown if Malavet will be tried again.
