Shaheen Comments on Debt Ceiling Agreement

Senator Jeanne Shaheen is pleased a bipartisan compromise agreement was reached in principle to raise the country’s debt ceiling.

She had warned allowing the federal government to default would have a catastrophic impact on both the national and the state’s economy.

In a statement, Democrat Shaheen said the agreement will allow the United States to handle its financial obligations while protecting the social safety net for New Hampshire families.
