April 15, 2024

The New Hampshire House has passed a bill which allows magistrates and bail commissioners to make bail decisions on Fridays or days before holidays which have in the past been delayed because courts were closed.

It also allows a person to be held before arraignment when there is evidence the defendant is a potential danger to public safety.

Manchesterinklink.com reported the Judicial Branch has determined that the added cost to pay bail commissioners and hire magistrates would be over $4-million-dollars a year.
