Person Dies After Assault Near Central High School in Manchester

A person has died after an assault near Central High School in Manchester, sources told Channel 9.

First responders were called just after 1 p.m. Thursday to the area of Lowell and Maple streets for a reported assault.

One person was found suffering from life-threatening injuries and taken to Elliot Hospital, where they died, sources said.

The person, whose identity has not been released, was found near Central High School, but the incident did not involve any high school students, police said.

The school had a stay-in-place order in effect.
