Saturday Auction for Vacant Lots Nets $1.3 Million for Manchester’s Affordable Housing Trust
City officials are pursuing an innovative strategy to address Manchester’s tight real estate market.
Municipal authorities and potential buyers gathered at the city’s JFK Coliseum Saturday morning to bid on 15 vacant city-owned lots to generate revenue for the city’s affordable housing trust.
City sources say all the lots were sold, adding roughly one point $1.3 million dollars to the fund, money that will be used to finance new affordable housing projects throughout the city.
