Strafford County Sheriff Takes Leave After Being Arrested on Charges

Strafford County Sheriff Mark Brave is taking administrative leave after being arrested on multiple charges.

County commissioners had given him until 12noon Tuesday to take a leave after he was accused of stealing thousands of dollars in county funds, falsifying evidence, and perjury.

The state Attorney General’s Office claims that he lied about the nature of trips he took so that he could be reimbursed for them.

Brave has denied any wrongdoing.
