Two Hospitalized Following Friday Night Head-On Crash in Hampton

State police are investigating Friday’s night head-on vehicle collision in Hampton that left two people hospitalized.

Troopers say it happened around 9:30 p.m. near the I-95 Interchange when the driver of a late-model Chevy Malibu headed west on eastbound Route 101 and collided with an oncoming Mitsubishi hatchback.

Troopers say the Chevy driver had to be extricated from the vehicle before being airlifted to a nearby hospital.

The other driver was hospitalized as a precaution.

Troopers say traffic through the area was affected until well after midnight.
