Woman Accused of Fatally Stabbing Manchester Man to Remain in Custody
The suspect in an early March stabbing in Manchester that left an elderly man dead will remain in custody while she awaits her trial.
Local court officials say 54-year-old Carrie Drake pleaded not guilty this past Tuesday to a single charge of second-degree murder for her alleged role in the death of 75-year-old Vernon Hayford on March 3rd.
Court officials say Drake, who has a history of mental-health issues, previously used a knife to injure Hayford in 2020.
The sentence in that case was suspended.
