Hampton and Rye Harbor Fees May Go Up

Parking and storage fees at Hampton and Rye harbors could be going up in 2025. The Port Authority said fees haven’t been raised in 20 years, but some who use the harbors said the costs should stay where they are.

The proposal requests doubling the fees for parking, launching and vessel storage to compare with other harbors in the country.

It costs $5 a day to park at the harbor, a fee that would rise to $10 under the proposal. Storage currently costs $150 per season, and that would increase to $300.

The Pease Development Authority Port Council voted unanimously to recommend the proposal for approval. It will now go before the Pease Development Authority Board of Directors. \

If the initial proposal is passed, a 30-day public comment period would be held. The board plans to vote on Jan. 7.
