Jury deliberations are going to resume today in the trial of a former Youth Development Center counselor accused of sexual assault. Prosecutors say 55-year-old Stephen Murray and two others committed the crime against a 14-year-old boy who was staying at the facility back in 1998. Murray’s lawyers claim there are a lot of inconsistencies in the alleged victim’s story for it to be believable. If convicted, Murray faces the possibility of prison time.

The New Hampshire ACLU is joining more than a dozen other states in taking President Trump’s administration to court. States have filed a lawsuit challenging Mister Trump’s executive order to deny citizenship to children born in the United States to noncitizens. The legal action claims Trump’s order violates the 14th Amendment which guarantees that a child born in the United States will get citizenship. The executive order was issued Monday and will go into effect in less than 30 days.

NH  Governor Kelly Ayotte has named the 15 people who will be part of the Commission on Government Efficiency. Among the people selected include leaders in state government, education, politics and private business. The goal of this commission is to help streamline government, cut spending, and make sure everything possible is being done to create value for taxpayers. If the commission identifies something that should be in the next state budget, Ayotte promised to implement it.
