Concord Prison Inmate Back Behind Bars
A New Hampshire State Prison for Men inmate is back behind bars after he spent two hours on the lam late Friday night.
State corrections officials say 37-year-old Benjamin Ayala exploited a supervised visit to Concord Hospital to slip away just after 10 p.m.
State and local police located him about two hours later hiding out near Woodman Street in Concord, at which point he was returned to the prison.
Ayala reportedly is serving time on sexual-assault and general assault charges.
No new charges were announced.
However, an investigation into Ayala’s unauthorized junket is ongoing.
