Dover School Board: Controversial Novel About Molestation Can Stay on Library Shelves
A controversial novel about a boy coping with a history of molestation by one of his teachers will remain on the shelves of the Dover High School library.
Last week, the seven-member Dover School Board voted unanimously to allow the book to remain available to students.
A local taxpayer’s complaint about the book’s availability put the issue before school board members.
School superintendent William Harbron supported efforts to keep the novel available to students.
Authorities say the board’s decision to keep the book on the shelves is final.
