Driver Facing Charges After Crash in Portsmouth

A distracted driver is now facing charges following a crash in Portsmouth that left four people hurt.

According to authorities 31-year-old Mercedes Santana was traveling on Constitution Avenue Wednesday when her vehicle went off the road and slammed into a utility pole.

First responders had to cut the power to the pole before the victims could be rescued.

They’re all expected to be OK and Santana is expected to appear in court in September.
