Fireworks Shows At Hampton Beach Postponed Due To Rare Birds
(Hampton, NH) — Fireworks shows at Hampton Beach have been postponed until further notice due to some rare birds that are currently in the area.
The birds, called piping plovers, are an endangered species.
The birds often set up their nests in areas where there are dunes or dune grass.
The first nest hatched Saturday and more of the birds are expected to hatch through the end of June.
Members of the public are being asked to keep themselves and their animals away from the birds.
Once the birds leave, normal beach activities can resume.
