Hampstead Police Warn Residents About Scam

Hampstead police are issuing a warning to residents about an ongoing scam.

Officials say the scam involves unexpected packages that are dropped off at homes with things like jewelry and Bluetooth speakers inside.  In the package is a QR code that can be scanned to see who sent the items and also can send your personal information directly to scammers.

Anyone who gets a package like this shouldn’t scan the code and is asked to contact police.
