Laconia Police Officer Released After Being Hit by Car

A Laconia police officer is now out of the hospital after being struck by a car in the line of duty.

John Skehan was working Thursday night and responded to the scene of a reported neighbor dispute at Sun Valley Cottages.

That’s when he was intentionally hit by a car driven by 38-year-old Justin Spirko, who is facing several charges such as DWI and attempted murder.

Skehan needed to undergo emergency surgery on his leg but is expected to make a full recovery.
