Man Named in Lake Winnipesaukee Boat Crash

A 69-year-old Pelham man was arrested Friday in connection with a hit-and-run boating accident in August 2023, on Lake Winnipesaukee.

Demostthenes Macheras faces misdemeanor charges of simple assault and hindering apprehension.

He allegedly piloted a boat that picked up the occupants of another boat that crashed into a dock and ended up on the rocks, and then left the scene.

Macheras has a court date in June.
