New England Retailer Donates Warm Coats to Veterans In Need
As winter sets in, a premier discount retailer says it’s “Buy, Give, Get’ program collected 47,500 winter coats to be donated to veterans in need.
Ocean State Job Lots says it’s an increase of 5,500 coats over the 2020 program.
From late October through the end of the year, the “Buy, Give, Get” program, which was hosted at each of the closeout discount retailer’s 147 stores across the Northeast, encouraged customers to buy a men’s or women’s winter coat and give it back to the store for donation to a veteran.
The coats are currently being distributed to veterans’ organizations throughout the Northeast, in partnership with a multi-state network of veteran support agencies, organizations, assistance programs and action groups serving New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
David Sarlitto, Executive Director of the Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation, says reputable Veterans Organizations in need of winter coats can contact him at 617-283-1602.
