New Hampshire Port Authority Says Safety is Top Priority
In the aftermath of Tuesday’s bridge collapse in Baltimore, safety is always the top priority in Portsmouth Harbor according to the director of the New Hampshire Port Authority.
About 200 ships enter and exit the harbor annually. Channel 9 reported Director Gino Marconi said three pilots who navigate vessels are all local and know the Piscataqua River well.
He also notes recently completed safety-related projects including dredging and replacement of the Sarah Long Bridge to improve navigating.
