NH DOT Warns EZPass Users About Smishing Scam
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation has issued a warning to EZPass users about a smishing scam.
Officials say scammers send a text message telling customers to pay a fake balance on their accounts.
People are then directed to a website to pay it off, which puts their personal information at risk.
The DOT says it will never use a text message asking drivers to pay an invoice.
