NH Hospitals Being Affected By Fluid Shortage

Three New Hampshire hospitals are being affected as part of a nationwide shortage of IV fluid.

That has forced officials at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, Dartmouth Health and Concord Hospital to either postpone or cancel elective surgeries and procedures.

The shortage started when Hurricane Helene damaged the Baxter International Facility in North Carolina.

Hospital leaders are now looking abroad for manufacturers that can provide IV fluid.
