NH Man Won Age Discrimination Lawsuit

Market Basket says it is surprised and disappointed with a federal jury’s decision in an age discrimination lawsuit filed by a New Hampshire man.

Rodney Martinez was awarded $134,000 when jurors decided unanimously that the company violated federal and state discrimination laws.

He was 55-years-old when he was hired in the Manchester store in 2012, and claimed he was never promoted to full-time with benefits, while younger workers were promoted.

Martinez was 62-years-old when he filed the complaint in federal court in 2022.
