A Manchester man is going to be serving decades behind bars for his role in multiple crimes. A judge sentenced 47-year-old Robert Gagnon to 45 years in prison yesterday for shooting 46-year-old Carlos Quintong and beating 83-year-old Robert Prest to death with a hatchet in 2022. He can reduce the time of his punishment by taking anger management classes and staying out of legal trouble. Gangon was previously in jail for violating a protection order filed by his ex-wife.
A commercial van plunged into the Ela River off Route 11 in New Durham this morning. The van slid off the road and into the river, which runs under Tash Road.. The roads were extremely icy at the time and crews at the scene said the driver of the van was ok and not injured.
A casino in Manchester was damaged after a car crashed into the building last night. The crash happened at the Revo Casino and Social House on South Willow Street. According to the Manchester police log, the crash was reported as an accident with injury. It is not yet clear what led up to the crash. |
Firefighters are investigating the cause of a two alarm fire that destroyed a two-family home in Manchester yesterday morning. Streets around the home, which is located near Catholic Medical Center, were shut down while firefighters worked to contain the flames. No one was injured.
