A Manchester woman is facing a murder charge after being accused of killing her boyfriend. Authorities claim 24-year-old Alicia Castagnino shot 27-year-old Brennan Pelio in the head at a home on Silver Street Tuesday night. No motive for the shooting has been made public yet. Castagnino remains in custody and she’s going to be arraigned tomorrow.
New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella has picked up a win is his lawsuit against Meta. The legal action accuses the parent company of Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp of using methods that cause physical and mental health harm to children. Attorney’s for Meta tried to get that lawsuit dismissed, but the request ended up being denied. Formella says it’s important for Meta to be held accountable because the company thrives on exploiting teenagers’ attention.
The results of a new survey show there’s support for more housing to be built in Manchester. The University of New Hampshire study says 77-percent of residents who were asked agree that more homes are important. Right now, Manchester is undergoing a comprehensive review of land use ordinances for the first time in more than two decades. A Zoning Ordinance Steering Committee is working to create the new land use code before it heads to the Board of Aldermen and Mayor Ruais for approval.
