Officials ID Motorist Killed in Last Week’s Fiery, Single-Vehicle Crash in Bedford
Local authorities are releasing the identity of a motorist who was killed in Thursday afternoon’s fiery, single-vehicle crash in Bedford.
State police say 52-year-old Scott Defreitas was headed south on the F.E. Everett Turnpike when his late-model Mercedes convertible hit a concrete barrier at a toll booth, at which point the vehicle caught fire.
Fellow motorists reportedly pulled Defreitas from the burning vehicle.
However, efforts by first responders to revive him were unsuccessful, and the Nashua man was declared dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
