Officials Reach Deal to Extend Advanced Life-Support Paramedic Service in Exeter
Beth Israel Lahey Health’s advanced life-support paramedic service will continue to be offered at least through December 20th.
This according to officials with the New Hampshire attorney general’s office, who confirmed that they met with hospital officials Thursday night after getting word Exeter Hospital would be canceling the program within ten days.
The issue reportedly was resolved after state officials pointed out that previously agreed-to contracts contained a clause stipulating 90 days’ notice of termination, which the hospital will now follow.
Meanwhile, some 20 to 30 paramedics could reportedly lose their job right before Christmas barring additional arrangements between now and mid-December.
