Police Investigate Death of Man Who Fell from Portsmouth Parking Garage

Portsmouth police are investigating after a man fell to his death hours before dawn Saturday.

Police say officers were called to the scene outside a parking garage near Hanover Street on an assault report.

Officers determined that two groups of men inside the Gaslight Night Club got into a dispute that continued outside.

The victim reportedly got separated from his group and sought refuge inside the garage where he tried to escape his pursuers by climbing over a railing, then fell to the sidewalk below.

He died at the hospital sometime later.
