Police Investigate Report of Gunfire in Ogunquit

Authorities are investigating a series of loud noises that were heard coming from the Hideaway Inn at 65 Main St. early Monday morning.

Ogunquit Police Chief John Lizanecz said investigators are trying to determine whether the noises that were reported as suspicious activity at 3:50 a.m. were gunshots or fireworks.

Nobody was injured, he said, adding there is no evidence of anybody being shot.
