Queen City Pride Members Criticize Manchester Police Department
(Manchester, NH) — Members of Queen City Pride are criticizing the Manchester Police Department for how the agency responded to a suspicious vehicle.
A box truck was spotted at Arms Park near the area of a Pride parade last month and the start of the event was delayed while police conducted an investigation.
In a letter, Queen City Pride accused the police department of creating alarm and suggested officers were protesting the LGBTQ community.
Police Chief Allen Aldenberg told a TV reporter he was angry that the letter painted members of his department as fearmongers.
The truck was later traced back to a man who was moving it to public parking spaces around the city because he was worried it would get towed.
