State Police Investigating a Portsmouth Incident

An alleged racially motivated assault in Portsmouth the night before Thanksgiving is being investigated by the State Police.

Channel 9 reported that Portsmouth’s deputy chief confirmed a former police department employee may have been involved, creating a conflict of interest.

The victim said language used during the assault led him to believe it was racial.

The Attorney General’s Office is also investigating.
