The 8th Annual “Make 12 Hours Count” Radiothon Surpasses Goal Once Again, Raising Over $104,000 For Granite State Veterans in Need
The 8th Annual “Make 12 Hours Count” Radiothon was held in Concord, NH on May 18th. It was again an event to remember, raising over $104,000 for Granite State veterans in need.
This 12 hour-broadcast (7AM-7PM) not only honored the sacrifices made by NH’s veterans and their families, but it also highlighted the challenges they face returning to civilian life. Testimonials from those served by Easterseals NH Military & Veterans Services (MVS) and Veterans Count showcased how vital listener support truly is to the cause. The Radiothon featured veterans and their loved ones, Governor Sununu, Assistant Commissioner Eddie Edwards, military dignitaries, and many more.
The Radiothon aired on Binnie Media radio stations with host Jack Heath of ‘Good Morning NH.’ It was heard on The Pulse of NH stations News Talk 107.7 WTPL, 98.1 WTSN, and 107.3 WEMJ, with additional support on music stations Frank FM, 105.5 JYY, Country 93.3 The Wolf, and 99.1 The Bone.
“I get emotional because the help and support we got from everyone was unbelievable,” said Charlene, wife of a service member helped by Veterans Count. “There were a lot of people who said they were going to help us and never did. To see that Veterans Count was there for us the entire time by checking in on us and making sure we were OK meant so much. [Veterans Count] was always there.”
“Binnie Media is extremely proud to support our veterans and military families with the continued partnership of Veterans Count NH and the Make 12 Hours Count Radiothon.,” says Massimo Rosati, President of Binnie Media. “As a local company, our stations and Binnie Family Charities strive to strengthen our communities, and this specific connection gives us the opportunity to serve a tremendous cause.”
Over the past seven years, the Radiothon has raised more than 1 million dollars to directly support local veterans.
As of March 2022, Veterans Count, the philanthropic arm of Easterseals NH and MVS, has helped over eight thousand veterans and their families. They have intervened in 128 cases of significant suicide risk and secured permanent housing for almost 2,000 homeless families. Veterans Count supports service members, veterans and their families from all eras, regardless of length of service or discharge status. Services are 100% free and 100% confidential, and $.90 of every dollar raised goes back to support local veterans. Veterans Count offers a hand up, not a handout, with the goal of self-sufficiency.
