Tilton Car Plunges into Lake Winnipesaukee

A motorist is lucky to be alive after her car went off the road and plunged through the ice of Lake Winnipesaukee Friday afternoon.

Fire officials say it happened around 3:40 p.m.

The motorist reportedly was able to get herself out of the car before she shimmied across about 40 feet of ice back to shore.

Officials say she suffered minor injuries in the crash but is expected to recover.

Crew reportedly were able to pull her vehicle from the icy lake.

No one else was hurt.
